I want to make sure I understand your setup before we think through the best solution.
1) Are these mostly credit card payments, loan payments, mortgage payments, or something else?
2) Are you tracking the underlying credit card or loan account in FreeBudget?
The reason Payments are excluded by default is to prevent double counting. For example, if your credit card purchases are already tracked in FreeBudget, then the credit card payment itself is just paying down the balance. Counting both would make your spending look higher than it really was.
For other types of payments, like mortgage or car payments, we just rolled out the Loans feature so payments can be split between principal and interest. That way, the actual expense portion can show accurately on your reports.
That said, I do understand the use case if you’re not tracking the underlying account, or if you’re thinking about your budget more from a cash-flow perspective.
This is helpful feedback as we think through how to support different budgeting styles without making the reports confusing.
