PDF Bank Statement Imports
Similar to CSV import for transactions FreeBudget should allow users to import a pdf of their bank statement to enter transactions.
Transfers
It would be great if there was a way to record transfers between accounts. For example moving money from chequing to savings. Also, it would be great if accounts could be affected like categories are. For example if I could make an entry coming from my chequing account and going to an asset or liability type account.
Custom recurring interval: repeat every X weeks or months
Recurring transactions currently offer a fixed set of schedules: weekly, biweekly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, and yearly. Users have asked for intervals that aren't on that list, most recently every 4 weeks. Rather than keep adding one preset at a time, add a "Custom" option to the frequency picker. Choosing it reveals two controls: a number and a unit (weeks or months). So "every 4 weeks," "every 3 weeks," or "every 6 months" all become possible without a new preset for each. Details: Available in both the Add Transaction dialog (via "Repeat this transaction") and the Recurring Schedules page. Existing schedules are unaffected. The current presets stay exactly as they are. Custom schedules show their interval in plain language in the schedules list, for example "Every 4 weeks." If you have an interval that this wouldn't cover, let us know in the comments.
Add Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH / ₴) currency support
Please add Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH / ₴) to the list of available currencies in settings.
Manage Multiple Shared Budgets
Allow users to manage someone else’s budget while still maintaining their own. This could be helpful for managing Elderly parents’ finances, working with a financial coach, etc.
Advanced reporting
One thing all of these platforms have are the same reports. It would be great if this incorporated financial ratios that you see in accounting and finance. There is a ton of them out there but would be great to have KPI scorecards for those to add as widgets. A lot of those ratios show unhealthy behaviors before it’s too late. Also some tending would be nice if you showed ytd info on income and expenses and showed the trend for that period bs the prior. Enriched reporting would be really great to see.
Budget Types
Offer 3 ways to budgets 1.Have your budgeting be a fixed annual budget and splits evenly across 12 months. 2.Have it be envelope types budgeting, giving every dollar a job. Comparable to Every Dollar or YNAB. 3.Have you fixed budgeting be be able to put in 1 off expenses in for certain months under specific catergories.
Search by transaction amount
I would like a way to search my transactions by amount. This way I can quickly search to see if I entered anything that is $26.59 (for example).
Bug in transaction calculation
Hi, there is small bug in transaction. for example let’s say we have 5 transaction, 1 income and 4 expense, when we select all this transactions, in transaction page shows total expense. so probably it calculates like: 4(- expense) + 1 (income) and show result. so let’s say income is more than expense result will be positive number. so everything is correct until here. and if you unselect income it must show negative number is sum of 4 expense. but bug is one unselect income. result will be negative but instead of sum of 4 expense shows income as a negative number. example calculation: 4 expense: -1000 1 income: 5000. when you select all transactions result will be: -1000+5000= 4000 when unselect income result must be: -1000 but in app result seems as -5000 but if you refresh and select this 4 expense separately result will seems as -1000 I have attached some example photo from app. I select all of them and shows correct calculation. I unselect income If I select one by one, and then unselect it works properly. Problem is, when I select all and then unselect it works buggy so probably problem is in select or select all functionality.
Need Enchachment
While adding a transaction, the Category field should not be mandatory. It should be optional, similar to the Tags field. Making the Category field mandatory increases the time required to save each transaction. After submitting an expense or income, the transaction entry form should remain open instead of closing automatically. Currently, users have to click the "+" icon again to add another transaction, which is time-consuming. The form should stay open after each submission so users can continue entering multiple expenses or incomes without extra clicks.
Hide Empty Merchant Image Placeholders
What is the small gray box that says no image in transactions? It appears for transaction I import and I see no way to hide or even edit it.
Add numerical sorting for dashboard and reports
When I look at expenses in dashboard or reports it appears it only shows in alphabetical order. I would like to have the option to sort them by amount ascending or descending too.
Make the time filters "sticky"
Seems like dashboard and other pages always default to current month view. Would be nice if it could remember my last state and keep it there like the past three months option.
Attach Receipts to Transactions
I would like to be able to attach a receipt to a transaction. This would be a very nice feature. Either by scan or taking a photo of the receipt. PDF or image file.
Running Balance
We need to be able to see the running balance in every account. This helps with forecasting. This has become a deal-breaker for me.
Mark Transactions as Reviewed
Users should be able to mark new transactions as reviewed after confirming or updating their categories. This would make it easy to distinguish transactions they have already checked from those that still need attention, without requiring them to remember which transactions are new.
View Expenses in Hours Worked
Users should be able to enter their annual salary or hourly pay rate and see how much their expenses cost in terms of hours worked. This would provide another perspective on spending and could help motivate users to reduce expenses in certain categories.
